Spicy Black Bean Dip
Serves 4-6
Ingredients
1 (15 oz.) can black beans
2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
2 tbsp. lime juice
2 cloves garlic
2 tsp. paprika
2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2-3/4 tsp. salt
1 dried ancho or guajillo chile pepper, soaked in warm water (optional*)
1/4 cup hot or warm water
Place all ingredients in a blender and puree to desired consistency
Tips
A dried and soaked chile will add a lot of flavor to this recipe, but it’s not totally necessary
If you are using a dried chile, use some of the soaking liquid in place of the warm water in the recipe
An immersion blender works well for this recipe
